September is Suicide Prevention Month, and in an Oregon Health Authority New Release, Aaron Grigg, mental health director at the CHD, and a coalition member was quoted about the organized Day of Hope that was a collaboration of suicide prevention coalitions around Oregon. Another initiative by the coalition was the partnership of the La Grande City Council who also recognized the Day of Hope with a Proclamation anointing September 9th as a Day of Hope. Suicide prevention work is ongoing throughout the year in Union County, and the news release lists resources, training, and other work going on in Oregon.
